The OpenDesktop app collects no data. It makes no network requests, has no accounts, no analytics and no ads. Everything it stores stays on your Mac.
OpenDesktop keeps its settings, your saved Desktop templates and a small activity log as files on your Mac. In the Mac App Store version they are inside the app's own container, ~/Library/Containers/com.blomega.opendesktop; in the version downloaded from this site they are in ~/.config/opendesktop and ~/Library/Logs/OpenDesktop.log. A template records which apps were open, where their windows sat, the page Chrome showed, the folder Finder showed and Terminal's working directory, plus an optional screenshot for its card. Deleting the app, or a template, removes them.
None of what these permissions let OpenDesktop see is recorded beyond the templates you save, or transmitted.
The app collects nothing, but this website asks for two things. To download OpenDesktop here, you give your email address; we keep it, with the date, the country your request came from and how many times you downloaded, only so we can tell you about new versions. It is never sold or shared. If you use the contact form, your name, email and message are emailed to us so we can reply. To have your email removed, write to pm@blomega.com.
The app collects no information from anyone. The website is not meant for children and does not knowingly collect their email addresses.
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. Questions: pm@blomega.com. OpenDesktop is made by Blomega LLC.
